In this session for experienced bloggers we’ll talk about what it takes to “monetize” your blog via ads and affiliate and subscription programs. We’ll also discuss ways to sell your blog content to others, including local online publications, and to sell your skills as a blog editor or writer to corporations or organizations. (Or, if you are a representative of a corporation or organization, when and how to hire someone to help with your blog.) Finally, we’ll cover practices to beware of, such as writing “sponsored” or paid posts on your own site without labeling them as such. We'll also briefly discuss how blogging platforms like WordPress can be re-purposed to create complex online publications that don't appear to have any "blog" components at all, but will allow blog writers and editors to work on the site without acquiring any new "backend" skills.
